In order to qualify for academic accommodations, individuals must present records from a medical professional stating their difficulties and therefore necessitating accommodations. Psychoeducational evaluations are available for clients in grade-school, high school, as well as college and graduate school students.
Common Accommodations include:
- Extra time to complete tests and assignments
- Testing in a separate room
- Priority seating in the classroom to limit distractions
- Breaks throughout the school-day
- Regular teacher-student-parent feedback regarding the student’s performance
- Use of electronic devices for taking notes
- Warnings before transitions (e.g. fire drills, tornado drills, meetings, bell rings, etc.)
- Request to live alone in college
- Request for an emotional support animal (ESA)
