Genesis provides psychotherapy services (counseling) to children, adolescents, and adults. Our practice works with children and adolescents who struggle with anxiety/fears/worries, whether their fears are more generalized or more obsessive/compulsive. Adult issues treated include: life/transitional issues, including anxiety, social difficulties, relationship problems, anger, and depression.
Working with children who are on the Autistic Spectrum is a passion of ours. We provide parents with an improved understanding of how to parent their unique and gifted child, and the child with a plan to improve social skills and executive functioning (i.e. planning, prioritizing, activating to work, etc.). We also enjoy working with late teens and early twenties on life direction, college/career planning, AD/HD and executive functioning issues, social/performance anxiety, and depression that may surface during these turbulent years. We frequently receive feedback from parents that we can make their child/adolescent feel comfortable and that their child enjoys working with us. It is particularly gratifying to work with children/adolescents and their families and to hear that we are making such an impact in their lives, whether it's helping their child to overcome fears and anxieties, helping parents to communicate with and parent their children more effectively, or providing clarity regarding diagnostic issues such as ADHD, Autism Spectrum, and Learning Disorders. In brief, we offer a unique combination of insight and practical, straightforward communication.
In our work with adults, we receive feedback that our session provide: clarity regarding the nature of their struggles, challenging insights that encourage them out of places where they may be stuck, and worthwhile resources that promote continued education and understanding of how they can continue to improve their situation.
Genesis was founded in 2020 by Dr. Chad Kraska in order to fill a niche for high-quality neuropsychological assessments in Charlotte, NC, for individuals with neurodevelopmental deficits who are in need of treatment. These strength-based assessments provide clarity for the entire treatment team and chart a clear path forward.
